Almost a year had passed before stepping back on the deck of Bella Rose, our year old Oyster 545. Berthed at Palma, Majorca for the winter, we couldn’t wait to throw off the bowlines, once again crisscrossing the Mediterranean…

To call your words and photos a travel blog just does not do it justice, Nicola, this is a wonderful article. You are so talented! Does Captain Barry know how lucky he is to share the boat with you and such and adventure? A picture is supposed to say 1,000 words; your photographs are more like one million as they bring you right into the moment and your words drench you with the atmosphere and surroundings. You have taken your reader on a unique journey, or is it a passage, that appears effortless to have planned, easy to execute and jammed full of excitement and joy at what is nature and also man-made. I have travelled to Majorca, Sicily and Malta but never under sail, you have illustrated the best of those islands. Your eye for a good photograph and selection of words to bring alive the views, to taste the food and to feel some of the senses you willingly absorbed are a credit to you. I look forward to you sharing more of your incredible adventures at sea.

Dear Jean-Claude,
It makes me so happy to read how I’ve taken you on a unique passage through nature at its best, a thrilling adventure at every knot on such a glorious yacht.
As you would have noticed, I’ve removed the previous comment. And I’m sure the author will silently thank me for eradicating such embarrassment…
